The University of Victoria Pride Collective is a constituent of the UVic Students’ Society that serves queer students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Greater Victoria community. We provide a safer space for queer-identified people and allies, as well as resources, including a library. We are developing an outreach and advocacy program, and are working to create a network with other groups, queer and human rights related.
The Canadian University Queer Services Conference (CUQSC) was initiated in 2006 by the Pride Centre at the University of Ottawa. With the goal of creating a nation-wide network of campus queer services, it has since become an annual affair, establishing itself in Winnipeg (2007), Montreal (2008), Guelph (2009) and now in Victoria in 2010.
